Welcome to Sky City Astronomy

Tycho Brahe, a Danish nobleman, alchemist, astrologer, and great naked-eye astronomer, built a fabulous castle and astronomical observatory off the coast of Denmark around the year 1580 that he called "Uranibørg", which in English translates as "Sky City". At the Sky City Tycho made more precise astronomical observations than anyone before him, and these enabled his colleague Johannes Kepler, a German mathematician, astronomer and astrologer, to formulate his great three laws of planetary motion. Tycho's Sky City was very much an astronomical community, full of great tools and great ideas, and it's hoped that in a similar way Sky City Astronomy can be a stimulating place to appreciate, learn, and communicate about the night sky.
